With “Old Friend” under his belt and doing well, Kurt has set out to record his sophomore compilation of 12 great new songs. Kurt says he really likes these songs and they just have a relaxed easy feel to them. Kurt says “This is my second batch in writing order and I feel the songs just got better, even though I do like the first album songs, these just stick with me”. The new album has some world class musicians lending their expertise. Kurt decided to record his new album with studio engineer Peter Carey who owns and runs Peter Carey’s Rhythm Room in San Antonio, Texas. Kurt stated that he’s excited to be solely producing this project and said “I really feel at home in the studio with Peter and am able to relax and really focus at my own pace, and the sound quality of Peter’s engineering is awesome”. Doug Howell is Executive Producing for the second time around. Kurt’s new album (still not named) has a more earthy, grass roots feel, which sounds more natural and truer to the sound he had originally wanted on his first album. These songs will stick with you and you’ll keep replaying them in your head over and over again, which isn’t a bad thing. Kurt’s album is due for release around December of 13′.

Not long out of the gate and Kurts album “Old Friend” has hit #1 on Reverbnation. Often called the Facebook for music, It focuses on the independent and mainstream music industry concerning every genre of music, and in every country. It is the central site for the world’s musicians, producers, fans, and venues to collaborate, communicate, and promote. Its charts comprise the result of its million plus members interactions in four different categories. This formula is calculated to attain the top 100 of each genre of music within it’s site. Kurts debut CD “Old Friend” making waves

Kurt’s new CD “Old Friend” has been released in May of this year. It consists of 13 tracks all written by Kurt and they vary in style from Americana and Texas Alternative Country, to even some Spanish style tunes and Blues.

To Kurt, being different is what its all about. It’s the variety in his writing styles that let’s Kurt express himself using the many different colors of the different genres and styles in which he grew up loving to giving the listener a fantastic variety. This is a CD you can put on and not be sick of by the third track because every song sounds the same. Its definitely a CD you can listen to again and again.

Kurt has always been about writing a great melody and then trying to do it justice with his expressive lyrics. On “Old friend” he does just that. From the first track “Lost Highway” he starts you on a journey through love and life, heartbreak, and happiness.

Kurt’s first single “Crazy World” was featured on Austinmusiccity.com’s website lisener’s poll and it won. Since then, it has been played in 8 different countries and has been spun on international web radio sites such as NPR and Heartland radio.

In a vast sea of sound alikes, Kurt has set out to shine with “Old Friend” , and Kurt says its only the start of at least 2 more Cd’s to come in the next two years that are already written with the second being recorded now in studio.
